500gYogurt (e.g. our cream yogurt with 10% fat)
500ml cold water
1 teaspoon of salt
- Optional: mint, cucumber or basil



Put the yogurt in a bowl and add the cold water. Stir until you get a uniform consistency.


Then add the salt and stir well again until the salt dissolves completely. The traditional ayran must be stirred vigorously until a thick layer of foam is formed. Let it rest for a few minutes.


Pour the Ayran into glasses and serve cold. Optionally, you can garnish the Ayran with fresh mint, cucumber or basil. You prefer it sour? Our Köy Ayran is made with drinking sour milk and is characterized by its sour taste. Tip: The Turkish yogurt drink goes especially well with spicy oriental dishes and definitely tastes best chilled!
